Tally's Fashion Statemtent

During the Rose City Show, Tally had the chance to model a creation made by Lorin for Greta...we wonder if the sweater ever got home to California?

A different kind of performance!

Good "wait"!

Look at these well trained dogs.

They know they don't get any until I am finished. They get the foam...well one lick of it anyway. Everyone sits patiently while I have my latte. The last picture is Merl getting his (he is last). Hattie is licking her lips, she already had hers. Kula doesn't like foam....

A beautiful diversion

Look at this! The Knitting Evangelist (aka:Lorin) struck again! At the Rose City Cluster, Dena took the bait......
Knitting is a way to pass the time at the dogs shows...and other times. So calming and with such wonderful outcomes. Beautiful yarn is therapeutic, both visually and tactilly, relieving the stress of waiting (and keeping nervous fingers off the dogs )
On Thursday after the show, we hit the trail and went to The Yarn Garden on Hawthorne in Portland. It is a wonderful little shop with tons of fabulous yarn options. None of us escaped without a new project! I love this glove that Dena completed last night! Way to go.

Rose City Cluster

Congratulations to the accomplishments of the very long weekend which is The Rose City Cluster. Our dear friend Lorin and her home bred bitch Greta won her first major on Saturday. Sammy and Ryan earned a FAST leg in agility on Monday. Vicki and Marty (Champion Joywood's Back to the Future at Kinloch) finished his championship with a major on Monday! Best of all the future marches on with the puppies Ivy and Merl having their first steps into the ring. They did a wonderful job and were so darn cute! Watch for more from them.

Here are some of the babies.  Billie is being a great mom.  5 boys and 3 girls.  11 days old today.

Mary finally goes shopping

I came home last night and found a package from QVC addressed to Mary Havlik. Luckily it was something that I really liked and wanted. It is a great organizer for the van or car. Of course it is red - her favorite color. :) I guess I need to keep my comments to myself when Mary and I are watching QVC unless it is something I really really do want. I think she also gets ideas from going to Home Depot with me.
I had no idea Mary had her own money but who really knows what she does when I am at work. Mary truly is a very special and talented dog.
I set up the camera today when I went out and this is what I found when I got home and looked at the pics. I'm guessing she heard me drive up.

HOLD THIS PICTURE IN THE MIRROR

Or...
Kula is scheduled for an ACL repair on the other side on February 5th.
The GREAT NEWS is that the vet said that there is a possibility that she WILL DO AGILITY again. Big grin from me at that point. We know how to do this, just needs lots of prayers from everyone as we go at it all again.

Duffy has a new hair do.

This is Duffy. He is visiting for a few days while his family is on Maui. (Who are the lucky dogs?) He got here after a couple of weeks of snowfall here in the Seattle area. Snow and soft coat on a Cairn equals really awful mats! We knew he needed a new hair do when he arrived, and that was part of the plan. Neither of us were prepared for the matting. The lesson being, if your Cairn has a soft coat, check for mats after playing in the snow. Duffy was a very good boy for a really long first grooming session (2.5 hours!). We have more to do (just minutes a day from here on), now he just looks like he needs grooming. Before he looked like a Wookie! He and Merl are having a lot of fun, wrestling and racing around non stop!

BABY KULA Christmas 2000

Sometimes getting organized pays off. Look what I found. Pictures that I thought were long lost. It had been on a corrupted computer, but (smart me) I had backed it up to a (get this) FLOPPY disc! Wasn't she darling? Hard to believe she is now platinum blonde.
