The Crofters gang

Since everyone now has their forever names, I thought I would do a bit of an update.

Left to right:
Bug is now Tage. She is much too pretty to be Bug anymore..(I didn't ask Pat, just thought it fit...hope she keeps it.) Tage will leave this week and live on Bainbridge Island.

Zin is now Lou. After Lou Pinella the baseball coach. His new family (Janice and Bill) has two Cairns, Teddy and BoSox, get the pattern? He gets to go home this coming Friday.
Caly is now Ivy. Heidi has a friend that she does agility with who has a dog named Caly. She gets to go to Pennsylvania with Merl and Padme in a couple of weeks and then to California with her new family.

Merl is still Merl. What more can I say than it fits? He will stay here until he is a grown up, then go to my daughter and her family. They don't "do" puppy!

Happy & Oz, still loving life

Just a quick update on the "boyz". They are still enjoying each other as brothers should. Playing, eating and sleeping well and learning the ropes of Betsy. Oz has passed up Happy in height, still about the same weight (youth gangley legs). The picture o Oz raiding the toy box is over a month old, he doesn't fit so good now.

Oz is getting ready for his first real show on Sunday in Eugene. He will also join Happy at the Rally ring (Happy will be doing Advanced and OB novice). Oz is pretty sure he will ace both rings, Pub isn't REALLY cuter :) Update on those results later :)
I must share the terrible experience Tom (Happy & Oz's kitty) had last weekend. Holly & DJ are moving out of my home to Salem. Tom is technically DJ's kitty, he picked him out from a shelter, paid for him with his own money and even paid for his "operation" when it came time. Holly and DJ loaded Tom into the kitty carrier Saturday and drove the moving van to their cute little new home in Salem. Maggie was loaded in a carrier too. Maggie was a very sweet cat that Holly rescued from an uncertain future at a vet's office. That's another story in itseldf. When the cat carrier was opened in their new home Holly said Tom ran into the covered litter box and wouldn't come out for anyone or anything.

I drove down Sunday to see their new digs.. What a cute a house!! It's close to Holly's new job, walking distance to everything. It has a nice big yard and DJ has the entire basement to himself for his computer games and all. When I arrived Tom was crounched way back in the litter box and with a small amount of coaxing from me and Happy he came to me. Poor thing, he stunk like a cat box... (not really dirty one but still..). If I left the room he ran back into the cat box. Along with her concern about the cat box living, Holly was concerned about Tom being an outside cat on such busy street they now live on so it was decided that Tom would travel home with Happy and I where he, evidently, feels he belongs. The forst couple days home in Beaverton Tom clung to us.. going for walks, sleeping together and watching TV... Now, after almost a week, he's back to his independent self.. coming and going as a cat should.

We are very sad we won't be joining the other Paws for their pilgramage to Pennsylvania. We know that those who are going will have fun and keep us updated on their antics.

The new puppy annex

All is well with the grapes this week...they are now 8+weeks old. Hard to believe! They have cousins visiting. Their Aunt CeCe and her kids are here while their mom (Pat) is in California showing another Aunt. It is lots of fun, since the cousins are a couple of weeks younger. I hadn't realized, there are 10 dog bodies here. Kona thinks it is pretty silly and is staying clear of all the estrogen! I whispered that there is earthdog coming up in a couple of weeks. That made him feel a little better.

Everyone is growing and learning at an astounding rate. Lots of time outside running and romping. Time in individual crates for meals. Indivual excursions and one on one time. The best news is that they all prefer to potty outside! I love puppy litter pans, such an easy transition!

We did puppy evaluations on Monday. Thanks to Portland area breeders Barb McNamee and Vicki Havlik. Very promising futures for the grapes seem to be on the horizon. We also had a structural evaluation done by Pat Hastings. Wow! What an educational hour. Well worth the time and money. A very good bit of information regarding this litter and future breeding plans.
Top to bottom pictures: The puppy annex with CeCe's two boys. Them in a puppy bundle. Bug (Meritage) with one ear up. Zin (new name to be Sweet Lou).

Puppy antics!

One picture is worth a thousand words...with these I have written an entire article!

More puppy stuff

The grapes are 7 weeks old now. I took this picture today when Kevin was home to grab them and help me out. I have no idea how Cindy takes pictures of four at once all by herself! They are left to right: Merl, Cali, Zin and Bug (Meritage). I think we need to find out what their call names are to be and start using them.
